But how many videos do you have collecting dust in your phone right now? Maybe because they're not the best quality, or maybe because they just don't inspire you to do anything with them.
Film sessions are unhurried, and allow your family to just be together, doing things you enjoy. No distractions, no posing, no pressure.
And the film we create together will be full of their little voices, their personalities, and the love between you.

Because I want these films to be authentic to who you are as a family, they are completely unscripted. We'll have a general plan for what you want to capture, but beyond that, we'll let things unfold naturally. We won't hurry from one activity to the next, and I take my time getting lots of different angles and perspectives. So not all of the footage or the moments will be usable. I spend hours editing all of the footage and I carefully pick the moments that were most meaningful, and that I can weave together into a beautiful, artistic film for your family. And having only the best moments in your film is what really makes them magical.
If your only experience with family photos has been a traditional session that is full of stress... you're in for a treat! Film sessions are the exact opposite. You get to stay home. You get to wear comfy clothes. Nobody is going to try to get your child to look at the camera and smile. Your kids get to do things they enjoy doing.
Children LOVE these sessions.. because they get to have mom and dad's uninterrupted attention for a couple of hours... time to just slow down and be a family and enjoy some time together. It really is magical.
Okay, I know you're thinking that no way will your husband go for this idea.
Show him a film. Let him see what it's like. Did you notice in the films above... the dads are literally fishing, or driving a jet ski, or sitting in their favorite chair with some lemonade?!
A lot of times, I'll have done photo sessions with families before they book me for a film session. What I've found is that during photo sessions, while the dads are great sports, you can usually tell that they would rather be doing anything else. But during film sessions - those same dads just seem to relax into it. They get to be active. They don't have to worry about posing or looking at the camera. They get to be the hero in the film. I'm convinced these sessions are soooo much better for dads than regular photo sessions.
They usually take about 2-3 hours... but because we'll be doing things your family loves to do, and just hanging out at your house or somewhere fun, trust me when I say the time will fly by! (One of my recent clients told me her kiddos were sad when I left and asked why I wasn't spending the night!)
Film sessions are usually done either in the morning or the evening so that if we do any filming outdoors, we'll have the best light!
